Not only does Nissan have a great record for producing safe vehicles, recently four different models from our inventory of new Nissan vehicles were awarded the title of Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
Most consumers should know that every year, the IIHS compiles a list of the safest cars on the road called their Top Safety Picks. Recently, the organization was forced to add another grade to the current ranking scheme. With so many automakers advancing the safety technology and design in their new vehicles, the list was getting too crowded and the IIHS needed a way to raise the bar. That is why they created the Top Safety Pick + award to be reserved for only the absolute safest cars out there.
We are happy to report that the Nissan Altima made the grade and was deemed a Top Safety Pick + in the "elite" category of cars. The other models that made the Top Safety Pick list were the Nissan Cube, the Nissan JUKE and the Nissan Versa.
