In 1988, Japanese automaker Nissan proved their dedication to innovation with the groundbreaking of its Research and Development Institute, that was later labeled the Nissan Technical Center of North America (NTCNA), and is based in Farmington Hills, Michigan.
Inside of the NTCNA, various crucial teams can be found, including: research and testing, production engineering, purchasing and quality administration. In 1991, the facility relocated to Farmington, Hills from Plymouth and has helped stimulate the economy since by providing hundreds of jobs to those in the Michigan area.
"Our dedicated workforce in the United States remains committed to engineering high-quality vehicles for our ever- increasing consumer base," explains Carla Bailo, Senior Vice President of Research & Development for Nissan Americas. "With that sentiment in mind, we are excited to add more engineers to our NTCNA family this year in a continued attempt to engineer vehicles that meet the expectations of Nissan owners."1
The facility has just recently celebrated its 25th birthday with a barbeque being held by the company for its 1,200 employees, complete with games, food and Nissan products, to express their appreciation and commend the progress they've made over the years.
Here at Beaver County Nissan, we appreciate all of the hard work of the NTCNA and new innovations that have been brought to the new Nissan lineup.
